A beautiful, and unique Victorian era 1880s sterling silver locket with full UK hallmarks. Stunning, detailed hand engraving and an unusual three dimensional decoration of silver leaves on the front, encircled with a frame of rose gold.
Maker's mark "R&M" along with Birmingham assay and date letter "i" which corresponds to 1883. The bail is also marked with the lion passant, indicating sterling silver.

Good overall condition with small dents on back side of locket and bail, as shown. Locket snaps shut securely. No glass frames inside the locket.
