This incredible Scottish malachite Victorian era piece dates from the mid-19th century.
What I love about this piece is that it is a leaf design but it also very closely resembles the shape of a witch's heart!
Set in sterling silver, unmarked (which is not unusual for these) but tested.
These Scottish hardstone pieces were immensely popular in the the mid 1800s, a time when Victorians in England fell in love with all things Scottish (a sentiment with which I can definitely relate!).
It can even be worn as a pendant, with a chain looped through the stem.
+++ Measurements +++
Approx. 2" x 1.25"
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition overall with some minor age-related wear. Some slight gapping around the edges of the setting, but the stone is very firmly in place and does not move at all. The back has some dings and scratches.
