I really love this bracelet. It is incredibly rare to find bog oak bracelets like this, and the only pieces I have seen similar are from "Bessie Buchanan’s Irish parure" at Sydney Living Museums (which you can find online).
Oddly enough, the parure in that collection does not feature a bracelet! But it does feature a beautiful necklace, earrings, and brooch with an almost identical bog oak shamrock design set in gold.
This bracelet is set in a silver tone metal that is not sterling. I believe it may have at one time had a gold wash, though it is nearly completely faded now.
This piece likely dates from the 1860s-70s.
+++ Measurements +++
Closed length is 6.5" but I think this works best for a smaller wrist of 6" or less. I have a 5.75" wrist and it fits nicely.
+++ Condition +++
Very good antique condition with minor wear. There are a couple of small places of wear to the bog oak, but it is very minimal and does not detract from the beauty of this special bracelet.
The clasp functions perfectly and it is wearable with care.
I highly recommend you do not get this piece wet.
