Beautiful late Victorian silk bodice, which I think was worn for mourning as it features an embroidered grape motif.
Grapes can be representative of the blood of Christ and the victory of life over death.
There is an inner bodice with gorgeous milk glass buttons!

Measurements taken with garment laid flat, double for bust and waist:
- 17" armpit to armpit
- 11.75" across waist

Condition overall is good with some wear:
- Small hole in the front at the bottom near the waist closure
- Missing the hook at the waist
- One hook in the middle front has come off but it still attached to the corresponding hook on the other side, could be resewn
