Gorgeous turn of the century cotton wrapper dress circa 1899 to 1900. I have included a page from an 1899 catalog to show some very similar styles.
I absolutely adore the collar of this dress. It would have likely been worn around the house only, but to me it is appropriate for any and all occasions.
Dark wooden buttons down the top half in the front, dress goes over the head.
+++ Measurements +++
12" between shoulder seams
18" armpit to armpit
+++ Condition +++
Condition overall is fair. When I found this piece, it had several tears in the sleeves and a few moth holes in the skirt.
I had it professionally mended, but the cotton is still quite fragile, specifically on the sleeves, and there are some additional small tears and tiny holes that were not mended.
I would not recommend this piece to be worn casually, though I could see it used carefully for a photo shoot.
It would be best as a study or display piece. If someone recreates this and sells a reproduction, I would wear it daily.
