Lovely cream silk slippers circa early-mid 19th century with precious little bows and silk ties.
Lined with leather and glazed cotton.
Label inside one shoe.
Some quick digging on this name seems to indicate he was a very prolific shoe maker and exporter active through the early to mid 19th century. Extant shoes bear the sticker with various addresses in London and Paris.
Label inside appears to read:
"M No 22 Rue de la Paix, près le Boulevard des Capucines, MELNOTTE, Mḍ Cordonnieu pour les Dames, à Paris
Ware house in LONDON Regent Street"
