Fabulous telescoping pencil in the shape of an Egyptian sarcophagus, circa 1920s when the Egyptian Revival was in full swing after the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922.
I have seen these mostly in silver, but this one is brass with colorful enamel decoration. The bottom of the pendant extends to reveal a "telescoping" pencil, which can still be used.
