Fabulous studded leather cutout boots circa 1910s by O'Connor & Goldberg, a Chicago based shoe store chain in operation from the 1900s to 1970s.

They seem to have opened around 1907, as this is the earliest reference I can find to them.

In newspaper advertisements they refer to themselves as "O-G Shoes" or "O-G Bootery," which I absolutely love! :)

They are black with a very slight purple undertone. They may have had a subtle metallic sheen at one point (which has since faded), as evidenced by the coloring of the leather that hasn't touched the light (beneath the button area). Lovely cutout design decorated with iridescent studs and cut steel beading.

Inside is all leather as well, except for a small cutout of canvas where there are handwritten sizing and reference numbers.

These are quite special and would make an excellent addition to any historical shoe collection!

+++ Measurements +++

Sizing on boots is always approximate, and I urge you to take careful measurements and ask any questions prior to purchasing.

I believe these are an approximate size 5 US women's, but please check the following measurements.

8 1/2" inner sole length

2 5/8" width measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot, and 9" circumference at the same spot measured from the outside

2 1/4" heel

9 1/2" total height

8 1/4" circumference at ankle

8" top opening

+++ Condition +++

Great overall condition with minor wear from age. Some wear to the soles. Some scuffs/marks on the toes and heels, as shown. Some missing studs here and there, and some loose strands of cut steel beading, but nothing too major or noticeable.

Leather is still very flexible, buttery soft, and not dried out. Leather lining in great condition with minor discoloration in a few places.

These are wearable with extra care, but do keep in mind they are antiques. I would recommend these only for photo shoots or special occasions, and I highly suggest finding a good cobbler. It is usually quite affordable to have repairs done if needed.

These boots were made to last a lifetime, and with the proper care and repairs when needed, they will!
