A wonderful printed cotton wrapper dress circa the turn of the century, perhaps 1899-1900.
The fabric is likely what I have seen called "flannelette" in the early catalogs, the inside of it having a soft napped, flannel texture (making it extra cozy!).
This dress would have been worn around the house, and with its built in, inner bodice, it could be worn with or without a corset.
+++ Measurements +++
Very small size, likely best for an XS.
34" bust
24" waist
12" between shoulder seams
51" length
+++ Condition +++
Fair to good condition overall with some minor flaws to note:
- Discoloration and fading throughout
- A few tiny stains
- Some very small holes near the hem
- Buttons have chips around the edges
The dress feels fairly sturdy for its age and is likely wearable with extra care. Also excellent for study and display. I have not cleaned this piece, and although there are no strong odors, it has a slight dusty odor from storage.
