This incredible wrapper dress has the absolute best pattern I have ever seen! A unique black and white abstract print on cotton, it is in amazing condition; the colors look and feel crisp like it has never been washed.
And the bodice is lined with the sweetest shamrock pattern printed cotton! Hook and eye closures down the center front of the inner bodice with hook and eyes at the waist and one snap, a later addition.
Single deep pocket on the right side of the skirt. Beautiful gathering at the front and back of the bodice. Fitted sleeves. Slightly trained skirt.
This is a really fantastic dress! Circa 1899 to early 1900s.
+++ Measurements +++
Likely best for an extra small to small, it is petite and short in the waist
35" bust
28" max waist (high waist)
12.5" shoulder (measured between the shoulder seams at the back)
50"-53" length
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition for her age! Really amazing considering many of these did not survive at all. There are some small mends, as shown: most notably a small grouping on the back of the skirt and one in the armpit. These are not really visible when worn, the one at the back of the skirt is well hidden amidst the gathers. A few faint scattered stains/discolorations that are mostly lost in the pattern.
It is still strong and wearable with care.
