Incredibly beautiful black velvet bodice circa 1880s with embroidered flowers in shades of gold, brown, pink, and pale blue.
Lined with brown cotton and boned. Dress shields attached to the underarm lining. Crochet covered button closures down the center front.
An absolutely stunning piece.

+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition! No major flaws. Some wear/tear to the silk lining in the collar. Faint stains on the dress shields, which have stiffened with age. I found no other notable flaws. There is a faint odor of smoke on the garment, which will likely fade with some airing, but it is worth mentioning for those sensitive to this.
Beautiful for study, display, or pattern making. Quite sturdy for its age and wearable with extra care. Please keep in mind the age of this piece when considering wearing.
