Lovely dress circa 1860s in a brown striped wool homespun fabric.
Hook and eye closures down the center front to the waist, bodice lined with cotton and boned on the front (four channels).
Full skirt, pleated in front and back. Single, deep pocket on the front, right side of skirt. Skirt is unlined except for the hem.
Black velvet trim on the bodice and an eyelet lace collar. Black velvet decorative buttons down the center front over the hidden hook and eye closures.
This is a gorgeous dress that displays beautifully and would be even more lovely when shown with the proper undergarments (which I did not have at the time of photographing).
