I am truly enamored with these little gem tintype albums! This one is so special. I have had it in my personal collection for a little while, and now I'm releasing it back out into the wild.
Circa 1860s, it features tiny little tintype photographs called "gems" in a miniature sized leather-bound album.
There are 57 photographs total (one of them is not a tintype) and space for 39 more at the back of the album. Gilt edge pages and a brass clasp.
It is full of incredibly interesting subjects, each one with their own story. My favorite might be the gentleman in spot number one!
+++ Measurements +++
The album measures approx 3 3/8" square and 3/4" wide.
+++ Condition +++
Fair condition overall and good for its age. There is fading and wear to the cover and a tear on the edge of the back cover at the spine. Pages have some foxing and wear. Some of the photos show wear also.
