Lovely formal black silk bodice circa 1860s with a long point in front and two tails in the back.
Bodice is lined with cotton and boned. Lots of wonderful details throughout. Seam piping. Covered wooden button closures down the back with some hooks and eyes at the top and at the waist in the cotton lining.

Good condition overall for her age but best for study or display.
Some seam splitting, small tears, underarm discoloration, etc. Some of the button covers are coming off, and the last buttonhole at the bottom is split open. The polished cotton lining of the sleeves has tears.
