I was instantly drawn to this unique piece because of the engraving on the silver lid. It is an image of a man holding a club beneath the words "Dread God."
Some cursory research revealed that "Dread God" is the motto for the Scottish clan Munro. However, the images didn't match.
So I dug a bit further and found that this particular image of the man holding the club with the words "Dread God" is associated with the clan Gordon of Lochinvar.
Dread God is an archaic Scottish saying that means "the fear of the Lord be on you."
The bottle is faceted crystal with an engraved silver lid that screws on. The lid has cork inside.
This piece likely dates from the mid to late 19th century.
