Before the days of sunglasses, there were tinted glasses, believed by some to improve vision, but also worn for the sake of fashion by others. Some were worn as eye protection from the elements.

These gorgeous blue tinted eyeglasses date from between 1835-1880. They have brass frames and octagonal lenses. The glass lenses are tinted blue but have no prescription (just clear, tinted glass).

+++ Measurements +++

They measure approximately 4.5" wide across the front.

+++ Condition +++

Overall very good condition for their age with minor patina to the frames. The lenses are in good shape with some minor wear, a couple of minor scratches. They still wear nicely.

These are wearable with care at your own risk (the lenses are made of glass, and therefore do not meet modern safety regulations).
