Fabulous deadstock oxfords or bluchers circa early 1940s by Peters.
The insole reads: "Fashion-Girl - A Peters Shoe"
The original box has a price of $4.50 written in pencil, which I believe would have been the original sale price. I have compared several newspaper advertisements for this shoe brand and that fits with what I have found.
+++ Measurements +++
I cannot find a clearly marked size but they seem to be equivalent to a US size 8, perhaps a bit on the narrow side.
I am a US 7.5 and they are slightly too long for me.
11" inner sole length
2 5/8" in wide measured across the bottom of the shoe at the ball of the foot
8 1/2" circumference measured around the outside of the shoe at the ball of the foot
2 1/4" heel
+++ Condition +++
Very nice condition, in original box. Box has some wear.
The soles have minimal scuffing so it is possible they were worn once or twice, or perhaps just tried on in the store. They do not have much wear at all.
The leather is still supple and not dried out. Definitely wearable with care.
