Incredible late 1910s Gossard corset in the original box, never worn.
The slogans "Improve Every Figure" and "Wear Gossard corsets - they lace in front" seem to have been used primarily in 1917 and 1918 according to the archives. The advertisements and styles I found from those years correspond to both the corset and box. I have included of these advertisements in the photographs.
Gossard touted themselves as being "the original front-lacing corset," which was a feature that made them easy to put on and adjust.
+++ Measurements +++
This Gossard corset is marked as a size 24 on the box. Laced measurements taken laid flat and unstretched: 10" across top, 12" across waist, 16" across hip, 18.5" long.
+++ Condition +++
This beauty is in near perfect condition. There are a handful of small discolorations and the elastic is not as stretchy as it once would have been, but I see no significant flaws to note.
It is clean and does not appear to have ever been worn. The cotton is strong and this piece would be wearable with care, but I would not recommend something of this age for frequent use.
The box itself is in good condition considering its age but there is some wear as shown.
