Beautiful late 1910s *pink* Gossard corset in the original box, never worn.
The slogans "Improve Every Figure" and "Wear Gossard corsets - they lace in front" seem to have been used primarily in 1917 and 1918 according to the archives. The advertisements and styles I found from those years correspond to both the corset and box. I have included of these advertisements in the photographs.
Gossard touted themselves as being "the original front-lacing corset," which was a feature that made them easy to put on and adjust.
Comes with a card with instructions on one side and an advertisement for their brassieres on the other!
+++ Measurements +++
Xxs size 21 (which refers to the waist size)
Measurements taken with laces all the way tied. Your own measurements can be 2-3"+ extra inches because you will have some gap in the lacing and you will likely corset down at least 1", depending on your preferences. Your results may vary.
22" underbust (just above the waist)
15-17.5" length (varies between front, sides, and back, but shortest in the front)
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition, unworn, in original box. However, bear in mind this corset is over 100 years old and there are a few faint spots of yellowing from age, as shown.
The elastic in the garters is no longer very stretchy.
I believe this corset is wearable with care. It seems strong and durable.
The box has some visible wear and one pieces is broken off (included).
