Gorgeous grey wool felt ensemble or walking suit, circa 1905-1906.
Two pieces, a matching top and skirt. The top is lined with silk and has hook and eye closures down the center front. The front is uniformly padded to help it hold its "monobosom" shape.
The skirt is unlined and has a silk waistband. It has hook and eye closures down the center back. Both pieces are quite heavy.
There is a tag in the bodice indicating the maker as "P. Vogel" of New York, though I cannot find any references to this maker.

+++ Condition +++
This piece is best for study or display, though it could also be restored. There are many moth holes throughout as well as some discoloration to the skirt in a few places. The silk waistband of the skirt and silk lining of the bodice are both shattered and coming apart. One hook from the waistband has come off (still present/connected), and one is loose.
Overall it is structurally sound, however, and is a beautiful piece.
