This fabulous bodice reminds me of a bumble bee! It also has pretty serious Halloween vibes. The pigeon front and huge balloon sleeves help date this piece to around 1904-1905.
It is a bright yellow/orange silk with a black net lace covering. It has hook and eye closures down the center front of the inner bodice/lining and the outer silk and net lace closes / overlaps without any closures.
Velvet fitted long cuffs (they appear dark brown but may have faded from black). Interesting design/pattern in the net lace.
Bodice is lined with cotton. No boning. Sleeves have a layer of gathered buckram between silk and cotton lining.

+++ Condition +++
Good condition overall with minor wear commensurate with age. A few small breaks in the net lace. Some tears in the underarm silk.
This piece would be wearable with extra care, but it is likely best as a display or study piece.
