Gorgeous solid silver pin or brooch featuring a fly with a moonstone body.
I have seen this style of pin referred to as a "safety pin" in antique catalogs from the 1900s. Unlike what we think of as a safety pin today, these came in solid gold and silver and featured precious gemstones set into figural insects, moons, stars, hearts, etc. I think they were likely used as a functional yet decorative pin for securing a collar or other piece of clothing.
This little guy is really fabulous--I just love the details! The moonstone really glows when it hits the light and shadow.
Unmarked but tested as silver.

Approx 1 3/8" long
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition. No flaws to note. I have not polished the silver, but chose to leave the natural patina. It could be polished to shine if you prefer.
