These bracelets were popular as sweetheart gifts at the turn of the century, and sometimes there would be a corresponding key that the gentleman gifter would wear as a symbol of their love.
Although there is a keyhole on the heart-shaped padlock, there is no key present (and may not have had one)
Clasp is marked 1/20 12k gold filled.
