Beautiful midnight blue velvet evening bodice with intricate soutache designs circa late 1900s to early 1910s.
Lined with luxurious silk, it has a structured, boned inner waistband and hook and eye closures up the center back.
At one time it had a black net lace collar (remnants can be seen around the inner neckline), but it has since been removed.
I would have loved to see this piece with its entire ensemble! I wonder what the skirt looked like. Would be a lovely piece for inspiration and pattern making.
