Lovely gold filled lorgnette or folding magnifiers circa late 1890s to 1900s. These make a unique and functional accessory when worn on a long chain!
Lorgnettes became quite fashionable in the late Victorian era and were likely worn mostly for style points rather than functionality, however they do come in handy if you benefit from reading glasses on occasion.
This particular pair folds up manually and pops out with the push of a button.
Chain not included in this listing.
