This phenomenal dress circa late 1880s has the most adorable print and the absolute softest cotton ever. It is a literal dream to wear and I am so tempted to keep her!
The fabric is an extremely soft cream colored cotton with a red abstract circle print.
Unstructured bodice with buttons down the center front. The skirt has a single hook and eye closure at the back and a snap that was added later. Skirt has a slight bustle as well.
See a video of this beauty in action on my Instagram account. In the photos of me wearing this piece I am wearing a petticoat and small bustle pad (bustle pad is available in the shop).
+++ Measurements +++
34"-36" length (a bit longer in the back due to the bustle)
Skirt waist has some seam allowance to be taken out if desired
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition for her age and a wearable piece! Some very minor flaws, as shown:
- Top two buttons missing
- Small holes in the sleeve
- Small seam separation in the sleeve
- Minor discoloration throughout
- Faint stains inside the bodice
Wearable with care--does not feel especially fragile or delicate, but should still be treated as an antique garment.
