This magical scrapbook has a patent date of 1883, but was likely assembled a bit later in the 1890s to turn of the century.
I'm so in love with the cover design, which features owls, bats, and a moon with a woman's face. Also featured on the cover is a charming poem about the moon calling to the owls.
The inside has been filled with cut out advertisements, poems, short stories, calling cards, and various other pieces of ephemera. There's even a hand written short story!
A total of 68 pages (including the front and back inside covers, which are decorated with ephemera).
Truly a one of a kind!
+++ Measurements +++
Approx 12.75" x 10" x 1.5"
+++ Condition +++
Condition is good overall with some flaws to note:
- Binding is intact but a little loose, as is typical with a book this age
- Cover has definite wear but is still quite lovely, some damage to the front, as shown
- Some small tears in a few pages but nothing major
Very beautiful display piece!
