An incredible jewelry set or demi parure circa 1870s to 1880s.
Earrings and brooch, both in 14k gold with seed pearls, unmarked but tested to be at least 14k (possibly 15k).
The brooch has a wonderful surprise on the back-- palette worked Prince of Wales curls in blond or light brown hair.
There is a safety chain attached to the brooch, which is in 9 karat gold. The pin is marked "9c".
The jewelry comes in what appears to be the original box, leather with purple velvet lining.
It would be a fabulous gift for an antique jewelry collector.
+++ Measurements +++
Brooch measures 1 1/2" x 1"
Earrings measure 3/4" including the ear wires, 11/16" without
Safety chain measures 5 1/4" long
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition. I have found no flaws to note. The box has minor wear, as expected with age, but it snaps closed tightly and opens with a push button.
