Fabulous sterling silver Victorian Scottish agate brooch, circa mid-19th century.
I love the design of this piece, with the very detailed engraving in the silver between the stones.
It features a beautiful array of colors in a hexagram design, deep green, grey, rust, and yellow ochre.
During the Victorian era, Scottish hardstone jewelry became extremely popular due to Queen Victoria's love of all things Scottish.
Unmarked but tests as sterling silver.
