Lovely blue velveteen bodice with an abstract print that appears to be silver paint -- I actually have had a few other bodices from this same period with the same appearance, so it seems to have been a popular, but short-lived fad at the time! If anyone knows what this particular type of fabric was called, I would love to know :)

Circa very early 1900, likely between 1901-1902. Adorable bishop sleeves with wide fitted cuffs.

Bodice lined with black cotton and fully boned. Inner bodice closes with hooks and eyes down the center front with an outer panel covering the front and attaching at  the shoulder with hooks and threads.

Pleated on the back. Collar and bottom trimmed with black silk.

+++ Measurements +++

30" bust

22" waist

12" shoulders

+++ Condition +++

Likely best for study or display in its current condition. There is a large rip in the cotton inner bodice and a few other small holes in the lining. This could be repaired if you wish to wear this piece.

There also appears to have been some kind of trim on the front and cuffs that has been removed (I see some threads).

Some fraying/wear to the silk trim around the collar and the bottom. Some light fading to the print in some places.
