Lovely ruffle bust enhancer, corset cover, or brassiere, circa 1900s.
Button closures down the center front and four layers of ruffles to add volume to the bust.
This style would have likely been most popular during the 1900s, when the "pigeon" front silhouette was desirable. Though ruffles and padding were used to enhance busts before and after this time to achieve a desired silhouette.
The tag reads 42 and also says "Brevette" along with some letters that could indicate a maker and/or the initials of the owner.
