Very witchy silk capelet circa 1890s with a unique lace collar.
Something I love about this capelet is how it was pieced together with different fabric shapes and sizes. Whoever made this wasn't wasting anything!
The collar is decorated with a loose weave lace that reminds me a bit of spiderwebs. Trimmed with a tissue silk at the top edge.
Two hook and eye collar clasps at the neck. Very easy to wear and lightweight.
+++ Measurements +++
14" collar circumference
14" long measured from the base of the collar at the center back to the bottom hem.
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition with minor age-related wear. The lace is a loose weave and hides any of the tiny imperfections. Some fraying around the edges of the tissue silk trim. A few tiny spots throughout but nothing noticeable.
Strong and wearable with care.
