Fabulous 1930s wool stroller suit dated 1937, made by the well known maker F.L. Dunno & Company. You can see several of their suits in the Met Collection online.
This suit was owned by Col. Charles E. Speaks, the president of the Fisk Rubber Corporation. It is called a "stroller suit," which was a formal type of daywear commonly worn by wealthier business types.
See photos for a newspaper clipping image of Mr. Speaks.
Charcoal grey, three pieces, it consists of a jacket, striped trousers, and waistcoat. Also included are a pair of suspenders that came with the suit. The trousers are button fly.
It is an incredibly well made suit with very fine details and super soft wool and silk lining/trim.

This suit is absolutely wearable! It will look amazing on whoever it finds a home with.
