This beautiful hand painted miniature portrait was done by Diana Strode-Jackson, a talented miniature portrait artist who was active in the 1930s (I have some of her other miniatures, still unlisted!)
I don't know what Diana looked like, but I think this might be a self portrait. It is entitled "The Diamond Pendant," and in the picture the woman is wearing a crescent moon hair pin, which is how the goddess Diana is often portrayed in art, with a crescent moon on her forehead.
Although this was likely not originally meant to be worn as a pendant (but rather hung on the wall), it is beautiful worn on a sturdy chain! (Chain in the photos not included, but feel free to message me to purchase separately.)
The frame is made of a gold plated brass. The back has a paper with a handwritten description.
