Super cool Willson "eye protector" glasses, a precursor to sunglasses. These were advertised as sun goggles for driving (see photos for examples of advertisements from 1915 and 1923).

The frames are a faux tortoise shell celluloid/plastic and the lenses are slightly tinted glass (not prescription).

They are lightweight and quite comfortable to wear! They come in the original case. This particular style was called "Zylbex".

+++ Measurements +++

Approximately 5 3/8" across the front of the frames. Each lens measures approximately 2" diameter.

+++ Condition +++

Lovely condition with no major flaws. There are two minor imperfections, as shown: one small chip the edge of one lens, seen from the inside only; the other on the front of the frame, which appears to be a slight manufacturing defect, not noticeable. Slight wear to the case.

Wearable with care -- at your own risk, as the lenses are glass and do not meet modern safety regulations.
