A truly stunning dark fuchsia and blue color changing velveteen bodice covered in tiny silver dots. It makes me think of the sky covered in a blanket of stars just before dawn.
It has hidden hook and eye closures down the center front and a pigeon front shape. Removable silver and mother of pearl buttons are attached with clips, and there is a detached collar (no hooks or closures, so it was likely pinned on or may have been tacked on before).
Lined with fuchsia cotton with a subtle dot print. Ties at the back of the waist. There is no boning in the bodice.
The sleeves and overall shape of this piece help date it to approximately 1902-1903.
+++ Measurements +++
33" bust
Up to 26" waist
16" length
Likely best for an xs-s
+++ Condition +++
This piece is in incredible condition with minor wear. There is a small hole in the back, as shown, and a few barely visible spots of wear in the velveteen. A bit of wear to the silk ribbons at the cuffs.
Wearable with care.
