These are the perfect boots!

Very unique side lacing boots circa early 1900s or turn of the century. This side lacing style was popular in the early-mid 19th century, but I have not seen many side lacing boots from the turn of the century.

They have wonderful diamond shaped stitching on the toes and a slightly curved heel.

Boots are by John Wanamaker, a well-known American merchant, marketing innovator, and owner of "Wanamaker's," considered to be Philadelphia's first department store.

They have a nice leather tag on the inside that says "John Wanamaker Philadelphia, New York, Paris, London."

There is a hand-written size inside indicating they are a size 6.5, but please see sizing notes below.

+++ Measurements +++

Sizing on boots is always approximate, and I urge you to take careful measurements and ask any questions prior to purchasing.

I believe these are an approximate size 7.5-8 US women's (I wear a 7.5 and they work well for me), but please check the following measurements.

10" inner sole length

2 7/8" width measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot, and 9 1/2" circumference at the same spot measured from the outside

2 1/4" heel

9 1/4" total height

+++ Condition +++

Great overall condition with minor wear from age. Wear to the soles. Some scuffs/marks on the heels, as shown. You may want to add heel caps at some point in the future.

Some superficial cuts/fissuring in the leather. Leather is still very flexible, buttery soft, and not dried out. Inner soles and canvas lining in great condition with minor discoloration in a few places.

The laces have been replaced with new waxed cotton laces.

These are wearable with care, but do keep in mind they are antiques. I highly suggest finding a good cobbler. It is usually quite affordable to have repairs done.

These boots were made to last a lifetime, and with the proper care and repairs when needed, they will!
