Wonderful dress (2-piece, bodice and skirt) in a dusty rose trimmed in navy blue velveteen circa late 1890s.
Boned bodice has an adorable collar and decorative buttons. Hook and eye closures up the center front with hook and thread closures off to one side.
Skirt has a slight bustle back and has two, off-center hook and eye closures in the back.
Machine and hand sewn.
+++ Measurements +++
The proportions are slightly unusual and seem to be for a short torso:
32" bust
27" middle waist and 30" lower waist (the bottom of the bodice flairs out)
15"-17" length
Skirt waist is 27"
Skirt length 41"
+++ Condition +++
Overall good condition with some flaws to note:
- A couple of small holes in the bodice and skirt
- Some color fading
- Velveteen is a bit thin, but no bald spots
- Missing a few hook and eye closures on the bodice at the waist area
- Underarm discoloration/fading/wear
Overall wearable with care. This piece has not been washed. Would also be a wonderful study or display piece!
