Circa 1897, this unique and beautiful bodice is the most wonderful shade of brown. I love all of the textures!
Alternating hook and eye closures up the center front.
The waistband is very interesting! It's almost like a built-in swiss waist. The panels are sewn onto the side seams and attach on the front with hooks and eyes.

Measurements taken with garment laid flat, double where appropriate:
11.5" across waist
15.5" armpit to armpit
16"-19" length
+++ Condition +++
Overall good condition for her age. Some wear to the velvet, small holes, loose trim, a few loose hooks/eyes, loose inner seam along the front, some stains around the sleeves and inside the collar.
Fabric and construction are strong. Wearable with care (would likely need minor repairs), but likely best as a study piece and beautiful for display.
