Fantastic mid-1890s bodice with incredible gigot or leg of mutton sleeves. Bodice is made of a wool or wool blend and the front piece is silk.
The cutest little pocket watch pocket is hidden beneath the front panel.
Hook and eye closures up the center front. Bodice is boned.
+++ Measurements +++
Measurements taken with garment laid flat, double where appropriate:
13" across waist
15.5" armpit to armpit
18" long
+++ Condition +++
Condition over all is good but with some issues. The wool/blend fabric that makes of the majority of the bodice is strong and in great shape. The silk front panel, however, is shattering. There are some stains in the armpits of the lining that do not show through. A few very small moth holes. Some wear around the collar.
Due to the condition of the silk front panel, this piece is likely not suitable for wearing. It would be a fantastic study piece, for pattern-making, or beautiful for display.
