Converted from a small brooch (which I found with the clasp broken) circa early 19th century, this gold filled glass-front locket features two locks of hair in two colors braided together.

This piece could have been worn as a memento for a loved one, either living or deceased. Perhaps it contained intertwined locks of the wearer's hair with that of a lover? Or maybe it was locks of hair from two different children?

Front is not easily opened without the use of jeweler's tools and the risk of damaging the piece, so it is best left worn with its original contents.

This listing is for the pendant only. Chain is available for purchase in a separate listing.
