A very sweet Aesthetic Movement locket in silver, circa 1880s, featuring a swallow and grape vines centered within a frame of stars.
The Aesthetic Movement was an artistic movement near the end of the 19th century that focused on "art for art's sake"--beauty without a purpose.
Unmarked but tested as solid silver, likely between .800-.900, a little below sterling.
Chain shown is not included. Listing is for the locket only.
