Lovely 18k gold and black enamel engraved mourning ring dated 1875.
Inscribed with initials AG on the shield and the words "In Memory Of" in black enamel around the outside of the band. Inside the band there are the words "A. Gouarne, died 10 May 1875 aged 16."
This would have likely been worn by a member of the family after the young person's death.
Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1874, 18k gold.
