Fabulous side button boots WITH laces too! I have only ever come across one other pair like this, and they are so cool. Circa 1910s.
The maker is stamped on the leather soles as "Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Co. St. Louis."
An article in "The St. Louis Star and Times" from July 10, 1910 claims that Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Co. were "the largest collective specialty shoe manufacturers in the world" at the time.
I've added an image of the clipping to the photos of this listing.
+++ Measurements +++
Best for study or display, but likely around a size 5 US.
Sizing on boots is always approximate.
9" inner sole length
3" width measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot, and 8.5" circumference at the same spot measured from the outside (at the first button).
10" total height, 1.75" heel.
+++ Condition +++
Fair condition with some notable flaws:
- Leather is flaking on the inside and would likely begin flaking around stress areas if worn
- Scuffs and discolorations
- Fraying/wear to the laces, which appear to be original
Best for study or display.
