This beautiful peach silk blouse represents the epitome of everything I love about early 20th century, "Edwardian" fashion.
She dates from around 1904 and features the most dramatic, lined gigot sleeves--very full at the top half, fitted down past the elbows. Sloped shoulders and a lace covered collar. Hand stitched gathers or smocking all around on bodice and sleeve tops.
Very sweet, detailed shell buttons for closures down the center back with a single hook and eye at the waist, which is accentuated by the full, pigeon-front style, gathered front.
A gorgeous example of this popular style! Would make a nice study piece for patterning and is also lovely for display.
