Lovely black skirt circa 1900s.
Cotton or possibly cotton silk blend with a subtle abstract pattern in the weave.
Fully lined with polished cotton. Bottom hem trimmed with velvet.
Hook and eye closure at center back. Large hooks inside waistband would have been to attach to a bodice.
Small stamp inside the waistband, but I was unable to make it out.
+++ Measurements +++
23" waist
42.5" length
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition overall with slight odor from storage, small hole close to the hem, and a small tear adjacent to the hook/eye closure at the back (hidden in the pleating).
Very sturdy and wearable with care.
