A fantastic lightweight cotton front button corset circa the turn of the century, around 1890s-1900s. Likely considered to be a type of "health corset."
What I love so much about this corset is the label! The twill tape waistband inside the lining not only features the brand name in a gorgeous font, but it also lists instructions for sewing the adjustable straps down to your size (something the original owner failed to do it seems in favor of pinning them instead).
The brand is "Double V Waist," of which I was able to find many mentions of in the 1890s and 1900s in the newspaper archives.
This corset has been well loved and worn. Best for study or display.
+++ Measurements +++
Corset waist measures approximately 28" when fully laced.
+++ Condition +++
Fair to good condition overall with some wear and stains from age. Some of the boning is poking out of the channels. The top button appears to be a replacement. There are pins holding the straps in place (they were never sewn down permanently as instructed inside the corset!).
Best for study or display.
