Very special and scarce bubble gum pink shoes circa 1870s!
Adorable bows and brass buckles with little stars engraved on them. The backs of the heels and the tongues are pointed. Low heels and square toes.
Leather soles, insoles, and uppers.
Soles are stamped "EMPRESS PAT. AUG 16. 70"
+++ Measurements +++
8" insole length
2" wide, measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot
1 1/2" heel
+++ Condition +++
Condition is fair with many age-related flaws. These shoes were obviously well-loved and worn many times.
- Strip of leather missing across the top of one buckle
- Insoles are worn and stained
- Scuffing, fading, and discoloration throughout
Most likely not suitable for wearing. Perhaps could be worn for a photo shoot if you wouldn't be walking in them, but they should be treated with extra care due to their age.
Please note: if you are sensitive to odors, proceed with caution. These do not have a bad odor, but there was a fairly strong perfume-like odor on them when I received the shoes. I have been airing them out ever since and it has significantly faded, but it will likely become more concentrated when they are packaged up and sealed for shipment, and there may be a strong perfume-like odor when they arrive.
