A very special novelty print rayon day dress circa 1930s. Fabric is semi sheer, and the pattern is a honeycomb of small spiderwebs, white on a green background.
The dress has two pieces -- the dress itself and a separate small vest/bodice that goes on over it.
Dress goes on over the head. There are no closures except at the cuffs, which each have one snap.
Vest goes on over the dress and has snaps up the front center and snaps at one side.
Such an adorable dress and print, very comfortable to wear!
+++ Measurements +++
Likely best for around a size medium/larger medium, keep in mind it slips over the head and there is no stretch in the fabric.
The sleeves seem unusually short, but they still look really cute. Perhaps they are meant to be 3/4 length.
42" bust
38" waist on the dress/ 34" waist on the vest/bodice
50" hip
Vest/bodice is 17" long
Dress is 44" long
Sleeve length 22"
+++ Condition +++
Condition is fair to good, with some issues of note:
Several scattered holes throughout, all quite small. The largest one is on the front about 3/4 of the way down and is approximately 3/8" across. Another of the largest is on one shoulder and is about the same size. The rest are mostly pinhead sized and look like they were made by hungry insects.
There are also several scattered faint brown stains throughout. These are not super noticeable when worn due to the busy pattern. I have not done any stain treatment or mending on this piece. See photos for the best description of condition.
The fabric and seams are still strong and the dress is very wearable!
