Gorgeous green woven wool silk blend dress, circa 1890s, in a lovely green and brown with silk front and green silk velvet lapels and cuffs. Beautiful gigot sleeves.
The cuff details are so interesting and my favorite part of the dress! Bodice is boned with steel boning and lined with cotton. Hook and eye closures down the center front.
Skirt waist has been altered to make it smaller. It could be let out again if you wish. Waist has two hook and eye closures (one hook missing). Lined with cotton. Has a nice big pocket on the back of the skirt! Gathered in the back in a bustle.
Such a beautiful dress, likely worn during colder weather, as it is quite heavy.
+++ Measurements +++
Bodice: 35" bust and 26" waist
Skirt: 23" waist and 35" length
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition overall for her age with some minor issues to note:
- Some wear around the collar
- Loose boning channel with steel boning exposed
- A few small mends and holes throughout
- Cotton sleeve lining is torn in both arms
- Missing one of two waist hook closures
Wearable with care but likely best as a study or display piece.
